Autostat™
A low-shrink, heat-stabilized polyester film with excellent ink adhesion, enabling reliable, high-precision flexible circuits and sensors.
Contact UsProduct Overview
Autostat polyester films are heat-stabilized, low-shrink substrates engineered for precise, high-reliability flexible printed circuits.
These films are available in clear, hazy, opaque, and white satin finishes, including pre-primed options. Autostat supports applications such as flexible printed circuits, membrane switch layers, sensors, and radio frequency identification (RFID) antennas.
Product Features
Opaque White Satin Finish Polyester Film
Provides a uniform white background ideal for hiding circuitry and improving contrast in printed electronic designs.
Adhesion Treated on Both Sides
Both surfaces are treated to ensure excellent adhesion to UV curable dielectric inks and many conductive inks, making it suitable for multilayer flexible printed circuits.
Heat Stabilized for Low Shrinkage
Engineered to maintain tight dimensional tolerances during high temperature processing steps, critical for precise multilayer printing and registration.
Available in Multiple Gauges
Common thicknesses include 75 μm, 125 μm, and 250 μm, offering flexibility for different circuit, structural, and opacity requirements.
Suitable for Flexible Circuitry and Printed Electronics
Designed for applications such as flexible circuits, membrane switch layers, RFID antennae, and sensor structures requiring a white background or hidden circuitry.
Strong Mechanical and Electrical Performance
Features high tensile strength and high breakdown voltage, supporting reliable function in demanding flexible electronics applications.
Flexible Printed Circuits
Autostat films are engineered for flexible circuitry, where their low shrinkage, heat stabilization, and ink adhesion primers enable precise, reliable multilayer circuit printing.
Membrane Switch Circuitry
Used widely as circuit layers in membrane switches, Autostat provides excellent dimensional stability, electrical performance, and durability, even through millions of actuations
Sensors
Their stability and compatibility with conductive inks make Autostat ideal for printed sensors, including pressure, touch, and environmental sensing elements.
Medical Diagnostics & Printed Electronics
Autostat appears in medical diagnostic devices and printed electronic components, benefiting from its clarity options, stability, and print compatibility.
FIM Graphics & Circuit Backing Layers
Some grades (e.g., WT white films) are used for FIM graphics, reflectors behind LEDs, and backing layers that hide circuitry while providing a printable surface.
