Kester® 268 Flux Cored Solder Wire
A zero-halogen flux-cored solder wire optimized for robotic soldering applications.
Contact UsProduct Overview
Kester 268 Flux-Cored Wire is a zero-halogen wire optimized for robotic soldering applications. Its unique chemistry ensures consistent workability performance in both robotic and manual soldering, delivering results equivalent to conventional halogen and halide-based systems. Kester 268 enables a clean release, preventing bridges and protrusions, even in narrow-pitch automated drag soldering.
Kester 268 produces a clear post-soldering residue, eliminating the need for cleaning. Classified as Type ROL0 flux under J-STD-004B specifications, it is zero-halogen and halide-free, with no intentional addition of bromine or chlorine, meeting the stringent requirements of IEC 61249-2-21, JPCA-ES-01, and IPC-410B specifications.
Product Features
Minimal Solder Ball Spatter, Smoke, and Odor
Halogen-Free
Conforms to halogen-free requirements with no intentionally added halogens or halides.
Excellent Wetting Speed and Spread
Clear Residue for Excellent Joint Aesthetics
Optimized for Robotic and Manual Soldering
Classified as ROL0 per IPC J-STD-004
Kester 268 No-Clean, Flux-Cored Robotic Solder Wire
This wire was specifically developed as the optimal solder wire for both robotic and manual soldering applications.
Solder ball spatter is minimal, nearly eliminating the risk of shorting between fine-pitch components, while still offering excellent wetting speed and spread. It produces low smoke and odor, leaves clear residues, and contains zero halogens for the highest level of environmental safety.
High Reliability
Many of our high-reliability solder alloys are available in cored wire. Our leading cored wire flux chemistries deliver high electrochemical reliability, even in harsh end-use conditions.
